End of day 7. Houghton, MI

End of day 7. After laundry we left for Copper Harbor. I left the bra at the laundromat. I decided it wasn’t mine. 🙂

The roads in the Keweenaw peninsula are nothing short of great. Skirting Lake Superior, big changes in elevation, twisties, hairpin turns, beaches, forests and cute as a button little towns.

Stopped at the Jam Pot monastery/bakery. Not kidding. 3 guys have this thing going. In the summer they come out from somewhere and make fruit cakes and muffins. I have no idea what they do in the winter. I think it’s a tax scam and some nefarious behavior. I bought a fruit cake and got a blessing just in case.

Copper Harbor is absolutely beautiful.

We spent too much time goofing at the laundry so we had to scoot. We took this great road back with twists for about 15 – 20 miles at speed laying the bikes over on the turns. It was a hoot.

Spending the night at a very nice little mom and pop motel in Houghton. I have a mighty fine cigar, a bottle of some nectar from the gods, playing cribbage with the clan on a picnic table I swear was built for kids. Life is good
