Day 10 – Oct.11
Up early. Still fighting that eastern time zone thing. That’s ok. Woke up to 21°. Nothing scheduled today. Head to Kalispell for a look-see. Laundry. Shopping. Big Stuff. Thats ok, we need a down day. This will be our last day in Hungry Horse. We move west again tomorrow.
Still no internet service. And most tv channels are still out of sync. I’m at peace with that. Nothing on and we did not come all the way to watch TV.
We took off to Kalispell. Nice, very nice city. Neat historic downtown area. Bustling. Lots of people out. Surrounded by mountains. Nice neighborhoods. Tidy small ranches. Weather turning very nice. Sunny and in the 40’s
Stopped at a Murdoch’s – Home and Ranch. We don’t have those back east. I could see this turning into one of our favorites. We even found a local Costco. Had to stop. This is twice the size of our store in Brighton. Walmart. Needed a few quick items. Again. Twice the size of the one around us.
Found a laundromat. Irena said best she has ever seen. Clean clothes. Excellent. Of course, there are different levels of clean while traveling. Pandora Express next door provided lunch while we waited for the spin cycles.
Stopped at a winery on the way out of town. Refreshing respite. Meh wine. We were the only ones there.
Pulled into a few tourist establishments. Back at the cabin by 4-430p. Good day. Now sunny and mid-40’s. Sat on the deck w/ a nice rye whiskey and a cigar. Dinner was left overs from the evening before and other stuff we had accumulated. Leaving tomorrow. Empty the fridge. Not that there was anything in there..
There ya go! Not a big day by any definition. But an easy day we both enjoyed. And needed. Tomorrow we leave and continue our travels.
Life is good.
Thanks, Paul! Sounds like a good R&R day!
