At any rate tough ride today, but fun. Heavy rain, wind and fog on the the trans Canadian hwy. the weather coming off Lake Superior is humbling. Spent most of the day trying to keep tight formation letting traffic pass us in passing lanes. Topography is very twisty roads, rock formations, heavily wooded, very hilly with water everywhere. With the omg heavy rain we kept our speed down to about 50mph or so. This went on for 3-4 hours. Spray from passing trucks etc is unbelievable. The “highway” is 2 lane. breathtakingly beautiful country. Saw a moose on side of the rode.
All the bikes are performing flawlessly. Amazing considering the drenching they took. I have decided to quit being so cheap and to get a decent rain suit.
Sitting in a great mom and pop motel in white river, Ontario. Spent a couple of hours talking with the owner. They fed us whiskey made from maple syrup. Scary good. I think they felt sorry for us. The liquor stores are closed on Sunday. Just one more thing Canada needs to fix before it’s a world power.
Long day yesterday, long day today. Probably 10 – 12 hours each. Of course lots of stopping for fuel, goofing, checking on everyone’s stamina etc… All in good spirits, bonding from common adventures. Life is good.
Tomorrow heading to Thunder Bay, about 400km. Got a tip from a local on a must see canyon about 30km east of it. If weather is clear, it’s a side trip for sure
