Day 4 – Monday. Made it to Thunder Bay. Very windy and foggy at times. Keeping bikes at speed on highway fatiguing. Huge temperature shifts. Temps could drop 20 degrees within a few hundred feet. Wierd. Approaching Thunder Bay we hit a spot where it instantly went up almost 20 degrees, like walking through a door.
Nice ride. Traffic getting heavy on highway. There are only 2 roads that cross through east to west. This one and one about 100 miles north. Today (Tuesday ) is their Independence Day so should be light. We will be crossing back into the States in MN this morning.
Accommodations in Thunder Bay are so far the fewest stars in the Michelin guide We also had (by unanimous vote) some of the worst pizza ever 🙂. The evening was not a loss as we played euchre and consumed some adult beverages. We took a break and went outside, then realized that it was still light out at 1030p. Time for bed
Duluth tonight, meeting Elaine and Woody who are making the 3 plus hour trip up to meet us. Jon has posted day 2 of his blog – stranman.wordpress.com which has more pics and more eloquent
